A New Beginning
This book has started me on the path to a more healthy lifestyle. When my sons were at the Air Force Academy, they were constantly told, "water is the elixer of life". Water is the first pillar. That made the book credible for me. I am implementing the steps slowly, one at a time. I've also convinced a group of friends to do this with me. Drinking more water is our first step. My diabetic friend, who was drinking NO water, has seen her sugar go down with just 16-32 ounces a day. (She drinks the flavored bottled water.)I'm convinced that once she gets up to half her weight in ounces on a regular basis that she will see her diabetes disappear. I highly recommend this book for a healthy lifestyle. I've only added one thing to it: prayer for wise food choices.
Love the book. This is nothing special.
This is a really simple journal. I really think you could easily just keep a notebook and save the money, it simply reiterates points in the book.
7 Pillars of Health
The author consolidates some classic notions on preserving health optimally.
Examples of these are as follows:
o filtered water consumption
o quality sleep
o pH maintenance at 7 to 7.5 ( check with your doctor)
( Type II diabetes can be exacerbated by a lack of sleep because the
carbs don't process correctly. )
o rest during the day
o avoid processed food which has a lesser nutrient value
o excess protein
o lack of quality exercise
o reduce excess medicinals in consultation with your physician
o detoxify through the skin
o fast on occasion to allow the body to rest and recharge
This work would be helpful in managing any chronic condition; such as,
arthritis and a host of others.
